The industry qualification is an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) which, unfortunately, is not possible to gain on short courses. On completion of your course with Alpine Tiling Training and, if it is likely that you will be seeking site-work employment, it will become necessary to obtain this qualification and, indeed, become a legal requirement in 2010.
Alpine Tiling Training are confident that you will have sufficient skills and knowledge to obtain this qualification at the satisfactory completion of our 2-6 week courses and registration can be achieved with our help.
On the successful completion of one of our courses, you will receive an Alpine Tiling Training Centre Certificate of Merit which many students have used to successfully gain employment. We also provide you with a portfolio containing photographs of your tiling work undertaken in our centre. Given the quality of the work you will complete with us, evidence has shown this is sufficient to launch 94% of our students into their own tiling businesses working in the domestic market.
On completing Alpine Tiling Training you will be required to register with the Construction Skills and our NVQ assessor who will evaluate your skills and abilities in the field of wall and floor tiling. At this stage you will need to have put together examples of your completed on-site work in the form of photographs to add to your Alpine Tiling Training Portfolio. Your NVQ assessor will arrange to visit you whilst at work, then if satisfied with your standard of workmanship with some additional industry knowledge, will award you the industry NVQ there is no written examination.
If it is your intention to seek employment on construction sites,
you will need to hold a valid CSCS Card. This will indicate to
prospective employers that you are aware of the various Health &
Safety requirements needed for this type of employment. We are able to
assess your abilities and give you practice on the test, however, you
will still need to be tested at a registered training centre.
